  • Laen Savage

    I am a Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner (ROWP) specializing in the planning and design of septic systems. My approach to wastewater management is built on a foundation of technical engineering and hands-on field experience.

    I earned my Diploma in Water Engineering Technology from Okanagan College in Kelowna. Since then, I have developed a deep background in the industry. I hold a Level 4 Wastewater Treatment Operator certification, the highest designation in the province, and I am an Applied Science Technologist (ASct) specialized in environmental technology.

    My technical background includes:

    • Designing and Installing Type 1 and Type 2 onsite systems in accordance with BC Sewerage System Regulations.

    • Performing site and soil assessments, including test pit excavations and permeability testing.

    • Using GIS and Software to analyze flow simulations to ensure accurate system modeling.

    • Handling all regulatory filings and health authority documentation for my clients.

    • Managing the certification process to ensure every system meets provincial standards.

    In addition to the planning side, I have a practical understanding of how these systems are built. I have years of experience operating heavy equipment, including excavators, front-end loaders, and skid steers. This allows me to create designs that are not only technically sound but also practical for the contractors who install them.

    My goal is to provide reliable, professional septic designs that protect our local environment while making the installation process as straightforward as possible for homeowners and excavators alike.
